Emma is a popular Nigerian female musician who came into spotlight in 2013 after releasing few hit singles, she is signed to Iyanya’s Tripple MG record label

EARLY LIFE AND BACKGROUND

Emma Nyra. Is a songstress. She was born in California in 1988 and raised in Texas. She has a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Administration. When she was six years old, her parents asked her what she wanted to do, and she said I wanted to sing and when she was 16 years, they asked her the same question and she told them “I did not want to go to college, I just wanted to sing”.
They refused but she read health administration because it was something that was familiar to her—her father is a pharmacist and her mother had a home health practice. After her degree, she insisted on relocating to Nigeria. She came to Nigeria in 2012.

She has been singing since she was at the Texas Southern University in Houston, Texas. She did hee first show in 2009 when she opened up for P-Square and J Martins. She attended Texas Southern University in Houston, Texas on a full volleyball scholarship where she completed her studies with a Bachelor of Science in Health Administration and a minor in Public Affairs. And her parents both hail from Delta State Nigeria.
The name “Nyra”…. Nyra is a nickname she got in college which in short is just another version of Naira.
As a small child she often sing songs of her own, and she also discovered that her sister and her could mimic almost every song on the radio.

CAREER AND LIFE

In March 2012, she moved to Nigeria in order to further pursue her career. She admits it was a bit tough in the beginning. She had a hard time adjusting to the weather and she missed her friends and family dearly. In hindsight she say that moving to Nigeria is one of the best decisions she ever made. The industry does not lie or sugar coat anything so it has definitely made her stronger.

She had met her manager, Ubi Franklin, in 2010 during one of her visits. He was working with Iyanya but she had not met Iyanya then. He told her he wanted more artistes to work with but she did not live in Nigeria at that time. When she finished her schooling, she told her parents about Franklin. Also, she already knew a few people in the industry because most of the time when she visited Nigeria, she attended events to network. Her manager was the one who helped convince her parents to allow her move to Nigeria.
She met Iyanya in 2011 through their manager Ubi Franklin.
In March 2012 she signed to Made Men Music Group and the rest is history. She feel truly blessed to be with a group of people who believe in her ability 100%.

The song that shot her to limelight is, “Your Waist” a song in which she was featured in by Iyanya and that song was just a joke.
They did not take it serious. Even when they dropped the single, she was not awared they were dropping it. After that single and its video, any time she drops any content online, it goes viral.
Emma Nyrawas able to gain widespread familiarity and she has been working non-stop ever since!

Emma Nyra has gotten more experience through platforms such as the “Iyanya and Friends Tour”, which traveled to over12major cities in Nigeria, and featured other fast-rising artistes such as Flowssick, Rayce, andMr. 2kay. Emma Nyrahas also been working on brand new features and vocal work for artistes such as Iceberg Slim’s“Ayanfe”, plus new singles with General Pype, Durellaand many more. Emma Nyra returns with the release of her blazing love ballads “Ori Mi Wu” which is a fast paced love song you can dance to, as well as her remix to “Everything I Do” which features Iyanya. Both songs were produced, mixed and mastered by D’Tunes, the mastermind behind “ Kukere”. There is much more in store from this sultry songstress who proves that the music Industry has one more female who’s not afraid to take it to the next level.

The best part of 2013 was when she won Nigeria Entertainment Award (NEA) as The Most Promising Female Act to Watch in 2013. She have worked with them twice . She hosted the red-carpet a year before and in the following year she just attended. It was always a dream to win an award and for my peers to recognize her. When she won the award, she felt like what “I am doing is what I am meant to be doing”. Also the U.S tour was a lot of fun. They did fourteen cities and that was the most she ever performed in her life.

In 2014 she released few more hit songs and music videos which gained her a lot more reputation in the industry and more fans..
She was also rumored to have been dating label boss Iyanya but she came out and debunked it. Emma promised to release her first studio album in fall 2014 with collabs from your favorite afro beats artists in Nigeria, Ghana and South Africa. She also said she would love to make a collabo with Wizkid and Chidinma.
Had a collabo with star singer davido on the track “ELELE” said to be her biggest hit ever in the year 2014 after making lot of waves..

In 2013 she was rumored to have sent a nude to an american rapper which later got leaked online…
In 2015 a fight was reported to have purpoted between her and label boss Franklin that was reported they dated until 2014 after frank proposed to another lady.
